U-18 Asia Cup Hockey: 4 more teams arrive today

Four more teams — China, Oman, Pakistan and Hong Kong — will arrive in the city on Thursday to participate in the seven-nation 4th Boys Under-18 Asia Cup Hockey-2016 beginning on Saturday at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium here.
Bangladesh have been placed in Pool A along with India and Oman while the Pool B comprises of Pakistan, China, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong.
The Chinese team is expected to arrive here at 10:50 am, followed by Oman at 12:15, Pakistan at 5:20 pm and Honk Kong at 7:45 pm.
India reached the capital as the first team Tuesday afternoon and made their practice on Wednesday morning at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
Chinese Taipei arrived here on Tuesday night and played a practice match against hosts Bangladesh on Wednesday afternoon where the hosts outplayed the visitors by 9-1 goals.
Seven teams will be fighting for the continental crown in the youth category from September 24 to 30.
Pakistan and India must be considered the strong favourites in this event in the absence of South Korea and Malaysia, the champions and runners-up of the last edition of this tournament, held in Singapore in 2011.
