4 more killed in road crashes

At least four more persons, including a local journalist and American expatriate were killed and 40 others critically injured in separate road accidents across the country on Monday.
In Faridpur, two passengers of a bus were killed and around 30 more persons seriously injured in the clash between a bus and pickup van in Nagarkanda Upazila of the district.
The accident took place at Gazaria of the upazila on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway around 12:30 pm.
The deceased were identified as Azizar Rahman Munshi ,55, son of Abdul Malek Munshi from
Sadorodi area of Bhanga upazila and Hafizur Rahman Badal, 40, son of Solaiman Mollah from Baroni village of Tungipara area.
Nagarkanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter to media.
In Munshigonj, a expatriate of America named Fouad (40) was killed and four others critically injured in a road crash when a truck hit a private car on the Dhaka-Mawa highway in Louhajang upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Fouad (40), who came to visit Bangladesh recently.
The accident occurred around 5:30 am on Monday on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway in Kumarbhog area.
Srinagar Fire Service In-Charge Arifuzzaman confirmed the news to media.
In Jashore, a local journalist died when a covered van rammed into his motorbike at Bakchar Cold Storage intersection in district town on Sunday night.
Deceased Ashikul Alam Sabuj, 30, was attached with Jashore-based daily ‘Dainik Samajer Kotha’. He was the son of Rafiqul Alam. He breathed his last at Jashore Medical College Hospital.
