4 more killed in road crashes

At least four more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.
In Cumilla, two persons died in separate road accidents in Chauddagram Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
An auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Md Sabuj, 22, died on the spot when the vehicle overturned in front of BRAC office at dawn, quoting Shahadat Bepari, owner of the auto-rickshaw.
Rezaul, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Chauddagram Police Station told that he learnt about the accident a while ago.
In the meantime, a 50-year old unidentified man breathed his last immediately after he was rammed by a vehicle in front of Miyabazar Time Square Hotel on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
The dead body was recovered from the spot,” said Manjurul Islam, In-Charge of Miyabazar Highway Police Outpost.
In Narayanganj, A Rickshaw driver named Shafiqul Islam (45) was killed on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Shimulti of Araihazar
in Narayanganj district.
This accident occurred around 4pm on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Shafiqul, son of Shah Alam of Madhabdi upazila of Narsingdi district.
Araihazar Police Station Sub-Inspector Mostafiz confirmed the news of accident to media.
In Lalmonirhat, a bicyclist named Abdul Majid (40) died in a road accident in Lalmonirhat.
The accident took place on the Kurigram-Rangpur highway at Jurabandha in Lalmonirhat. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Majid, a resident of Shibganj village under Sadar upazila of Barabari union.
Officer-in-Charge of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Mahfuz Alam confirmed the incident to media.
