Four male and four female bowlers were selected from Mymensingh during a trial of Robi fast bowler hunt program on Saturday.
Like Chittagong, Sylhet, Comilla and Cox’s Bazar, young fast bowlers turned up in great numbers at Mymensingh Circuit House ground.
Leading mobile phone operator Robi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is jointly organizing this exciting campaign, powered by Robi’s Super Fast Internet.
Additional SP DSB and Vice President of Mymenshingh Cricket Parishad Nur Alam, General Secretary of Mymensingh DSA Sazzad Jahan Chowdhury Shaheen and Cricket Secretary of Mymensingh Cricket Parishad Rezaul Hoque Bahadur were present on the occasion.
A total of 882 fast bowlers got registered to take part in the contest in Mymensingh. Following the screening process 526 fast bowlers were eligible to take part in the hunt program from where four male and four female fast bowlers were selected.
Earlier, 12 male and 1 female fast bowlers from Sylhet, 5 male fast bowlers from Chittagong, 3 male fast bowlers from Comilla and 1 male fast bowler was selected from Cox’s Bazar. The fast bowler with the highest speed (132 kmph) in the Robi Fast Bowler Hunt campaign so far is from Comilla.
The fast bowler hunt sessions will take place in 16 different locations of the country. All the selected participants from across the country will go to Dhaka for High Performance Camp. The participants are being judged based on their physical ability and skills (weight, height, flexibility test, knee to wall).
Following the end of the elimination round, top 12 players (10 male, 2 female) will be declared as winners. BCB’s high performance coaches and game development technical staffs are looking into the technical aspects of the Fast Bowler Hunt campaign.
Starting from the first day of the year the window for registering in the campaign came to an end on January 14′ 2016. During this period, 39,418 male and female fast bowlers had applied for registration.
