4 madrasa students killed in road crash

At least three students and a teacher of a madrasa were killed, and 15 others injured in a tragic incident in Sirajganj on Sunday morning.
The accident took place on the Dhaka-Rajshahi Highway when a head-on collision occurred between a passenger bus and a truck at Talukder Bazar of Kamarkhanda upazila of the district.
The victims were identified as Khaled Mahmud, 27, teacher of Begunbari Madrasa of Dhaka, three students were Imran Hassan, 16, Yasin Arafat, 15, and Elias, 16. They all were students of city’s Begunbari Madrasa.
Shahid Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station confirmed the matter to the media and said that the madrasa students and teachers

were returning after attending a Islamic programme in Naogaon. On the way to Dhaka, a truck struck their bus, leaving two dead on the spot.
The injured were taken to Sirajganj Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib 250 Bed General Hospital after the accident, he said.
Teacher Khaled died while undergoing treatment in the hospital. Elias died when he was being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
