4 killed in road mishaps

Four workers were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Sylhet and Gazipur on Tuesday
morning. In Sylhet, two workers were killed when a sand-laden truck plunged into a road side ditch as its driver lost control over its wheel in Khilpara area of Fenchuganj upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Aslam Miah, 25, son of Sorafot Miah, resident of Machhimpur area of the city, and Saiful Islam, 20, son of Abdul Zabbar, resident of Ranikuthir village of Netrokona district.
Nandan Kanti Dhar, officer-in-charge of Fenchuganj Police Station, said the accident took place while the truck plunged into a road side ditch in the area around 8:30am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
On information police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
In Gazipur, two workers were killed and five others injured as a human-hauler hit a covered van on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Salna area of the city in the morning. The deceased was identified as Shahjahan, 35, and Anisur Rahman, 38, both were employed by San Yard Pavilion Industry.
Hospital sources said the accident took place as the covered van overturned on the road after being hit by the human hauler in the area around 12am, leaving the duo dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured were admitted to Taj Uddin Medical College Hospital.
