4 killed in road crashes

Three people were killed and 15 others injured in two road accidents in Shibalaya and Sadar upazilas on Saturday morning.
In Shibalaya, two motorcyclists were killed as a bus knocked down their vehicle at Tepra on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in the upazila in the morning.
The deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain, son of Hossain Ali of Uthali village, and Rajibul Hasan, son of Alauddin of Mohadebpur village of the upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Shibalaya Police Station Manirul Islam said the accident took place in the area around 8:00am when the Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Purbasha Paribahan’ hit the motorcycle, leaving the duo dead on the spot. In Sadar upazila, a bus plunged into a pond at Muljan on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in the morning, killing one person and injuring at least 15 others. Iidentity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Aminur Rahman said the bus carrying passengers fell into the roadside pond around 6:30am as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving one passenger dead on the spot and 15 others injured.
The injured were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital from where one of them was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
UNB from Kishoreganj adds: A schoolgirl was killed as a rashly-driven truck ran over her at Sukhia on the Dhaka-Kishoreganj highway in Pakundia upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Setu,11, class V student of Porabaria Government Primary School and daughter of Selim Miah, a resident of Porabaria village of the upazila.
Police said a speeding truck ran over the girl in the area in the evening while she was crossing the road, leaving her dead on the spot.
Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
