4 killed in city road accidents

At least four motorcycle riders were killed in separate road accidents in the city on Wednesday.
At Mohakhali, two women were killed when their bike was hit on Tuesday midnight. The deceased were identified as Durdana Akhter Kochi, 38, daughter of one Fazlul Haque, and Sonia, 25, daughter of one Ruhul Amin from Bhola district.
The accident took place around 2am when an unidentified vehicle struck

the scooter carrying them near Setu Bhaban, leaving them injured, said Duty Officer of Banani Police Station Fazal Islam.
Later, they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared them dead, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
Meanwhile, two motorcycle riders were killed when a truck rammed a motorbike in city’s Demra area on Wednesday. The incident occurred in Demra’s Konapara area around 12 am on Wednesday.
The victims have been identified as Ashiq Ahmed, 20, a student of Rokeya Ahsan Memorial College, and Sadim Rizvi, 21. They both were inhabitants of Dogair Bazar area.
The two were rushed to the hospital by pedestrians where the on-duty doctor declared Rizvi dead, he said. Ashiq died later during treatment, said Bachchu Mia, an inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s police outpost.
The bodies are being kept in the hospital’s morgue for autopsy, Bachchu added.
