Two people, including a child, were killed in a collision between a private car and a pickup van at Golapganj in Sylhet. 4 more people were injured. The accident took place at Fazilpur on Sylhet-Zakiganj road in Sadar union of the Golapganj upazila around 10:30 am on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Safiq Uddin, 60, and his grandson Aryan(1).
The injured have been identified as Husna Begum (55), Fatema Akhter Poppy (30), Tamanna (25) and Nasir Uddin (25) of Patan Uchpara village in Mollapara union of the same upazila.
According to local and police sources, a private car coming from Beanibazar and a pick-up van heading for Kanaighat collided head-on at Fazilpur in Golapganj Sadar Union on Sylhet-Zakiganj Road at around 10:30 am on Saturday. Two people, including a child, were killed on the spot. Four more people were seriously injured in the incident. Upon receiving the immediate news, a team of Golapganj Fire Service rescued the victims and sent them to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
