The police in Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenaidah have arrested five activists and leaders of Jammat e Islami with five cocktail like substances from near Rudrapur government primary school under the upazila on Thursday morning. They were arrested for their alleged involvement in a number of subversive activities in the district.
Kotchandpur police station officer in charge Ahmed Kabir said, they were informed that a number of Jamaat men were holding meeting with cocktail and other explosives at Rudrapur government primary school.
Sensing the police presence a number of the associates managed to flee, while the four were caught with the cocktail like substances from their possession. The detained will be sent to court after filing case with the police, OC said.
