4 injured as motorcade of Begum Selima Rahman attacked by BCL men at Muladi

Atleast four BNP activists became injured after motorcade of BNP vice chairman and former minister Begum Selima Rahman came under attack of Bangladesh Chhatra League cadres in front of Degree College at Muladi Upazila of Barisal on Sunday noon.
Witnesses said while the motorcade passing in front of the college BCL cadres chased and attacked with sticks at the backside of the motorcade of Begum Selima Rahman at about 11:30 am.
Begum Selima Rahman alleged while she was going to Muladi upazila town to attend a rally, BCL cadres attacking on her motorcade damaged four motorcycles and injured four BNP activists.
However, Jubayer Ahmed Jewel, Muladi Upazila BCL President, rejecting the allegation, claimed BCL was not connected with the incident.
It may be happened by rival factions of BNP led by Advocate Joynul Abedin as Muladi BNP unit has factional rivalries since long days and BNP leader blaming BCL to damage image of the ruling party, Jubayer told.
Alauddin Milon, officer in charge of Muladi police station, denying fact of any attack by BCL activists on BNP leader’s motorcade told BCL cadres assembled in front of the college area to give reception to AL backed upazila vice chairman Mainul Hasan Sabuj , as he returned home visiting foreign countries.
At that time motorcade of BNP leader Selima Rahman was crossing the area and panicked BNP activist seeing rush of BCL activists trying to cross the area hurriedly may done some accidents.
