4 held for deceiving SSC examinees

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday arrested four persons from several districts on charge of spreading rumours about Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination question paper leak.
The detainees have been identified as Md Abu Bakkar Siddque, 28, from Gazipur, Shakil Mahmud, 20, Saimon Islam, said RAB-1 Deputy Director Morshedul Hassan.
Acting on a tip-off, the elite force members picked up the four youths from Dhaka, Gazipur and Khulna, the RAB official said.
They tried to create panic among the examinees by spreading rumours that they had questions of the SSC and Dakhil examinations that began on Monday.
“Detainees could not leak any question paper, but they took money from the students, luring them of question paper leak via Facebook Messenger, Imo, and Viber. Each of them swindled students ranging from Tk 1.5 to 2 lakh,” he said.
Earlier, Education Minister Dipu Moni said all coaching centers across the country will remain shut for a month from January 25 with the aim of preventing question paper leakage during the SSC and its equivalent examinations.
Also, she said that government has taken strict surveillance measures to stop SSC question paper leakage.
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations under 11 education boards began yesterday (Monday) across the country.
