Airport customs officials of Shah Amanat International Airport recovered four gold bars from the possession of a air passenger came from Jeddah on Saturday evening.
The passenger identified as Md. Ahsanullah who hails f srom Coxsbazar . He was detained by customs intelligence for interrogation, source said. Airport sources said the passenger came in Chittagong from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in a Biman’s flight No.BG 038 .
While scanning the luggage of the passenger, these gold bars were detected.
Assistant customs commissioner Sohel Rana told that the weight of these gold bars is 465 grams and the market prices of the gold not less than Tk.20 lakh. Departmental action is being taken against the passenger, sources said.
