A court here on Wednesday sentenced four people to life term imprisonment for killing a man over a trifling matter at Ulohati village in Kendua upazila in 2015.
The lifers are Swapan, Jewel, Rajdhar, Ershad Mia, all hailing from the same village. District and Sessions Judge KM Rasheduzzaman Raja handed down the verdict in presence of the convicts. The court also fined the convicts TK 25,000 each, in default, to suffer one more month imprisonemnt.
According to the prosecutions, the convicts killed Rubel Mia of the village on August 6, 2015 following a brawl over a mobile phone set and dumped his body.
Police recovered the body on the following day. A case was filed
After examining the records and nine witnesses of the case the judged handed down the verdict.
