A court here on Wednesday convicted four people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for killing a man in 2014.
Three of the convicts-Mohon, 40, Surat Ali, 50, Pervez, 20 and Hashem Ali, 52–were present during pronouncement of the judgment while the other, Pervez, was tried in absentia.
The court also issued a warrant for the arrest of Pervez.
According to the prosecution, Abdur Rauf Molla, 45, of Baralidah village in Sreepur upazila, was hacked to death by the convicts over previous enmity on July 14, 2011.
Ripon Mollah, son of the victim, filed a case with Sreepur Police Station.
After examining records and 14 witnesses, Magura District and Sessions Judge Mahfuza Begum handed down the verdict.
