Four firms selling unsafe jar water were sealed by a mobile court of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam of the mobile court passed the order on Sunday for violation of rules.
The drive was conducted in Mohammadpur and adjacent areas in the city
with the coordination of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
The Magistrate told a group of journalists that the firms were selling water directly without purifications.
The firms are: Reliable Drinking Water, Sachchha Drinking Water, Shafia Drinking Water and Ontor Drinking Water.
The mobile court has also given three months jail to Belal, the owner of the Reliable Drinking Water and Shawon, the Manager.
The court has fined the owners of those firms two lakh Taka and crushed 4,600 water jars.
