11th National Parliamentary election: 4 female, 51 male candidates submit nominations for 5 constituencies in Chandpur

Amid much enthusiasm, four lady candidates and 51 male candidates submitted their respective nomination papers to the District Returning officer and DC Chandpur Md Majedur Rahman Khan in his office till Wednesday afternoon to contest the coming 11the National Election in five constituencies in the district. As per rule of the EC, the candidates submitted their nominations along with a limited number of party leaders. There are no Jamaat candidate in BNP Jote.
Of them, there are eight candidates from the ruling AL, 14 from BNP, five from J P, two from Gono Forum, two from Jaker Party, and the rest are Independent, JSD, BSD, Islami Oikya Front, Islami Oikya Jote and Islami Andolon candidates-said sources in the District Returning office.
Of the candidates, there are 14 candidates in Chandpur- 4 Constituency, Faridganj. It is the highest number of candidates in the district. Here there are two AL candidates and there are three BNP candidates. Newly -nominated AL candidate is renowned Journalist Shafiqur Rahman-President of National Press Club. Dr Shamsul Huque Bhuiyan was dropped but yet he submitted his nomination.
In Chandpur-3 Constituency, Sadar-Haimchar, there are 13 candidates. Here AL has a lone candidate-Dr Dipu Moni MP, while there are four candidates from BNP.  
In Chandpur-1 Constituency, Kochua, there are 10 candidates. Here there are two AL and three BNP candidates including former State Minister for Education A H M Ehsanul Huque Milon, now in jail. His wife Najmunnahar Baby submitted her nomination as an alternative candidate.
In Chandpur-2 Constituency, Matlab Uttar and Dakhshin, there are eight candidates including the heavyweight candidate Disaster Minister Mofazzol Hossain Chowdhury Maya MP and AL Central leader Nurul Amin Ruhul while there are two BNP candidates – Dr Jalaluddin- former Ambassador in Spain and Tanvir Huda-son of former State Minister of BNP regime late Md Nurul Huda..
In Chandpur-5 Constituency, Hajiganj-Shahrasti, there are 10 candidates. Of them , AL has the lone candidate-Major Rtd Rafiqul Islam Bir Uttam, MP, while BNP has two candidates- MA Matin and Engineer Mominul Huque. The BNP candidates are the arch rivals to each other. One can’t tolerate other-say voters.
According to the District Election office, there are a total of 18 lakh five thousand nine hundred and twenty six voters in the district.
Of them, 9 lakh16 thousands and 473 are male voters and the rest 8 lakh 89 thousand and 453 are female voters.
 However, this time, all voters want peaceful voting, no clash at or around the Vote Centres.
