Four meritorious students of the Department of Economics of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Prof Nazma Begum Trust Fund Scholarship” for their outstanding academic performances. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function on Sunday at the VC’s lounge of the university.
Treasurer of DU Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Sadeka Halim, donor of the trust fund Prof Dr Nazma Begum and Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman were present on this occasion.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to become good human being along with brilliant ones. He thanked the donor for her donation. He also congratulated the recipients of scholarships.
The recipients of scholarships are – Umme Khairun Sadia (Piara Banu Scholarship), Bidyananda Bishwas (SM Wazed Scholarship), Imran Hossain (Momena Begum Scholarship) and Munmun Akter Sheba (Abul Hasnat Mahmud Scholarship).
