4 dead, several missing as trawler sinks in Bay of Bengal

Bodies of four people have been recovered and 13 others are rescued after a fishing trawler capsized in the Bay of Bengal.
At least nine people are believed to be missing after the trawler sank 65 kilometres off Cox’s Bazar’s St Martin’s Island in the deep sea early on Saturday.
According to sources at the local Coast Guard, the trawler ‘FV Zanzabil’ sank with 26 people on board early in the morning.
“The Coast Guard and Navy along with local fishing trawlers launched a rescue operation soon after the

trawler went down. Four bodies were recovered while 13 people have been rescued. The others are still missing,” said a Coast Guard official, who asked not to be named.
The sunken trawler is yet to be traced, added the official.
