4 Cos ink $50m deal to invest in BEPZA EZ

Four foreign and local companies will invest $50 million collectively at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN) in Chattogram’s Mirsarai area.
The companies, located in the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) economic zone under the industrial city, will manufacture garment accessories, camping items, shoe accessories and packaging tools, according to a press release.
To this effect, the Bepza signed the land lease agreements with US company Campex (BD) Ltd, Chinese company Fengqun Composite Material Company Ltd, Sri Lankan company Univogue Garments, and Bangladeshi company TexTrim Labels (Bd) Ltd on Saturday.The agreement was signed at an event at the Bepza office where Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary to the prime minister, was present as chief guest. The investment will generate 23,453 jobs, said the press release.
