Staff Reporter :Four Bangladeshi workers were killed in fire at a sofa making factory in Dammam, the capital of Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, on Monday.Quoting police, local media reports said that four of the victims were Bangladeshi. They were working in the factory when it caught fire. The deceased were identified as Mir Rahman, son of Badiur Rahman of Dagonbhuiyan in Feni district; Abu Musa, hailed from Chandina in Comilla district; Abu Mollah, son of Lokhman hailed from Chandpur; and Ziaur Rahman, son of Abul Kalam of Comilla. Sarwar Alam, labour counselor of Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia, however, confirmed the deaths of Bangladeshis. “They were burnt to death when the fire broke out at Dalla Panaiya Sofa Factory in the areas in the morning. Firefighters doused the fire and recovered the charred bodies from the spot,” he added.The deadly fire accident took place at Dalla Panaiya Sofa Factory in the morning. Four Bangladeshis were working there along with some Pakistani nationals, he said. Officials at Bangladesh embassy in Saudi Arabia also visited the spot to collect more information about the incident, he added.
