The 3rd Zakat Fair 2015 begins in Dhaka on Friday with the theme of “Making a difference with Zakat”.
Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest at National Shooting Sports Federation Complex at Gulshan-1.
The two-day fair scheduled to be held on June 12-13 is being jointly organized by Center for Zakat Management, Muslim Aid Bangladesh, Islamic Relief Bangladesh and Exim Bank.
There will be 27 stalls in the fair which will include the Zakat Consultation Desk, commercial stalls and food corners. They will showcase different products of Zakat-based organizations including hijabs, women garments, gift items and books.
This has been disclosed at a “Meet the Press” programme in Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Wednesday.
Khondoker Zakaria Ahmed, General Manager, Center for Zakat Management and Member Secretary of the Zakat Fair Organizing Committee, delivered the introductory statement at the event.
AQM Safiullah, Senior Vice-President (SVP) of Exim Bank, Md. Iqbal Ahmed, Head of Disaster Management of Muslim Aid and Shafiul Azam of Islamic Relief were present on the occasion.
Zakaria Ahmed said that the Zakat Fair is being organized with an aim for further accelerating the social and economic progress of Bangladesh.
He urged all concerned including the country’s well-off people to visit and know the real calculation of Zakat as well as business Zakat.
On the sidelines of the fair, he said, four seminars will be held. The keynote speakers of the seminar include Professor Kamaluddin Abdullah Zafree and Mufti Quazi Muhammad Ibrahim.
Besides, Lt Gen (retd) M. Nooruddin Khan, President, Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW), Salahuddin Kasem Khan, Managing Director of A K Khan & Co., Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, Chairman, PPRC, Justice Md. Abdur Rouf, Justice AFM Ashgar Ali, Mohammad Sabur Khan, President, Daffodil International University, Shoaib Chowdhury, Vice President of DCCI, Niaz Rahim, Convener of the Fair and Chairman, Center for Zakat Management, AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Secretary General of Exim Bank Foundation, will be present as guests at the seminars.
