Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said, initiation of harassment of claim for involvement of two or three organizations, there is a negative impact on the insurance sector.
If the confidence crisis is overcome, the insurance sector will surpass India. We are ahead of many indicators than India.
The minister made the comment while addressing the inaugural function of the Third Insurance Fair at the Gymnasium Ground at MA Aziz Stadium yesterday.
The minister said besides the development, the government is working to build Bangladesh as a social welfare state. 13.81 percent of the budget budget for the social safety net is given. Insurance can play an important role in this sector.
He thanked the organisers for organising an insurance fair in Sohail Sarwarchatagram. He said that the driver needs to be insured. Insurance authorities have to take initiative. The industrial sector exceeds the agricultural sector. Insurance is for the factory, group insurance for workers is not. If you are injured, mutilated or killed, you have to depend on charity or benevolence of the owners. So workers have to be covered under insurance. People have to remove the doubts of insurance.
He said some companies have started health insurance. But it is limited. There are 100 percent human health insurance in Europe. Our people are gone in treatment. The ICU bed limited in the government hospital.
