Economic Reporter :The third Bangladesh Denim Expo has begun at International Convention City, Bashundhara, in the capital on Wednesday. The theme of the current show of Bangladesh Denim Expo is ‘Sustainable Denim’. The expo will highlight eco-sustainable denim developments, consumer trends and sustainability in denim design and accessories. The two-day event will feature a trend zone displaying latest and future denim trends. In addition, a group of international experts will address all aspects of sustainability, ecology and consciousness from manufacturing to dying and wet processing in four seminars and one panel discussion during the expo. The subjects of the seminars are “Branding through Green Denim (Environmental Sustainability)”, “Safe and Responsible Supply Chain”, “Innovating Sustainable Denim for New Generation Market”, and “Sustainable Wet Processing”. The panel discussions will be held on “Building leaders for sustained growth”. BGMEA, BUFT, CBI, C&A, H&M, GIZ, IFC, BENETTON, WRAP are the seminar partners. Founder and CEO of Bangladesh Denim Expo Mostafiz Uddin said that they are going to organize this November expo in greater scale after getting huge response from across the world during the last Bangladesh Denim Expo of May this year. “The show’s aim is not only to promote the denim trade in Bangladesh but also to encourage better business practice to raise the better living standard of the people in this country”, he added. The expo will be concluded with a formal closing ceremony followed by a gala night.
