Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) awarded scholarship to 3,986 students who passed HSC/Equivalent Examination in 2018 and studying at Graduation level in different universities/colleges of the country at a ceremony held at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium, Mirpur in the city on February. Anisul Huq, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs was present as the chief guest while the Bangladesh Bank Governor of Fazle Kabir was present as special guest and handed over the scholarship awarding letters among the recipients, said a press release.
Sayem Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank presided over the function.
Dutch-Bangla Bank, under its social cause program, has been awarding scholarship to the meritorious students in need of financial aid studying at Higher Secondary and Graduation levels. Under this initiative, a total number of 57,696 students got DBBL scholarship among which 18,500 students of different levels are receiving the scholarship at present.
Law Minister in his oration profusely lauded the scholarship program of Dutch-Bangla Bank and recalled other philanthropic activities of the Bank. He appreciated the DBBL’s continuous humanitarian and welfare activities and termed this Scholarship program as a unique example of helping the meritorious and needy students of the country. He expected that all the corporate bodies of the country would come forward with such programs for the benefit of the society. He congratulated the scholarship awardees and expected that they would dedicate themselves by achieving real education.
