The 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Jute Spinners Ltd was held at CIRDAP auditorium in Dhaka on Saturday, says a press release.
Muhammad Shams-ul Huda, Chairman of the company presided over the meeting.
Managing Director and CEO of Jute Spinners Ltd and Chairman of BJMA Muhammad Shams uz Zoha, Directors Shahida Hossain and Muhammad Shams-ul Kadir, Executive Director M Faizur Rahman Chaudhury, Independent Director M Harunur Rashid, Chief Financial Officer Toffazzal Hossain Bhuiyan, Company Secretary ATM Mostafa and Shareholders were present at the AGM.
The audited financial statement of the company for the year June 30, 2014 was placed before the meeting. After thorough discussion, the AGM approved the annual audited report for the financial year 2013-2014 and appointed auditor for the next financial year.
Muhammad Shams uz Zoha informed the shareholders that in spite of the depression in the international jute market, the company had been trying to uphold the image by exporting jute yarn during the current financial year.
He also said Jute Spinners Ltd earned a position of respect in the world jute market due to high quality of its products and overall excellent services.
Zoha thanked the shareholders and related persons for the co-operation that they gave in the past and hoped such co-operation would continue in future as well for all round success of the company.
