Coast guard forces in Chittagong East zone recovered about 35 thousand pieces of intoxicated yaba tablets from outer berth of Chittagong Port on Wednesday midnight.
Lt. commander of Coast Guard Md. Mohinuzzaman told the media that sensing the suspected movement of a fishing trawler in Patenga outer channel , Coast Guard forces chased the trawler and sensing the presence of law enforcers, the traffickers fled away quickly by another engine boat leaving the trawler at the channel.
After searching the trawler, huge yabas and 5000 meters current fishing net recovered from the trawler. Mentionable that on Wednesday morning, 6.70 lakh pieces of yaba recovered from outer berth of the port and rounded up two drug peddlers .
The approximate value of the seized yaba is about Tk.20 cr , sources said.
