A Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mobile court conducted an eviction drive and removed 350 illegal establishments in the city’s Mirpur area on Thursday.
Executive Magistrate Sajid Anwar of the DNCC led the mobile court from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Hope School Road and Senpara Boundary road areas of Mirpur- 10. During the 4-hour long eviction drive, more than 350 illegal structures including, semi-pacca sheds, ramps, stairs and other establishments, were removed.
After the drive, about 30,000 square feet apace were recovered and opened for pedestrian’s movement, said DNCC Public Relation Officer ASM Mamun.
Besides, the mobile court filed three cases against three organizations-Alif Decorator, Khalek Hotel and Shad Birani- under the local government (City Corporation) Act, 2009 and fined those Tk 70,000, he added.
