National Board of Revenue (NBR) has accorded a reception to 35 highest and long-term taxpayers here on Monday.On the occasion, Commissioner’s Office of Sylhet Tax Zone hosted a divisional level function at Mohammed Ali Gymnesium here with the main thrust of inspiring the taxpayers in paying more tax and creating new taxpayer. A large number of taxpayers including members of the civil society, professional leaders and tax lawyers were present at the function.
Member of NBR (Tax and Enforcement) Md Shirajul Islam addressed the ceremony as chief guests with Abu Hannan Delwar Hussain Commissioner of Income Taxes, in the chair.
Director of Health Sylhet Division Dr Shuhrawardi, Customs and exsize and vat Commissionarate Gulam Muhammed Munir,Sylhet Sadar Upazila Chairman Ashfak Ahmed,SMCCI President Hasin Ahmed, SCCI Director Hizkil Guljar, Taxs Bar Association President Ad Mrittunjoy Dar Bula, Sylhet District Sports Association Secretary Mahi Uddin Ahmed Selim, SWCCI President Sornolota Ray also spoke the program.
Md Shirajul Islam underscored the need for creating mass awareness about more income tax collection in the greater interest of making the country economically self-reliance. He said many of the affordable people of the society are still afraid of income tax payment due to misconception and wrong counseling by frauds.
