35 rivers marked rise, 44 fall

Water levels in 35 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 44 stations recorded fall.
Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at eight river stations are flowing above respective danger levels and water levels at four monitored river stations have remained steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Saturday.
The Karotoa at Chakrahimpur, the Gur at Singra, the Lakhya at Lakhpur, the Jamuna at Naogaon, the Surma at Kanaighat, the Surma at Sunamganj, the Old Surma at Derai and the Kansha at Jariajanjail are flowing above their respective dangers levels by 23cm, 75cm, 10cm, 28cm, 51cm, 28cm, 13cm, and 153cm.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Saturday.
A total of 100 mm rainfall were recorded at Sunamganj, 74 mm at Nakuagaon, 52 mm at Manu Rly Br, 85 mm at Kanaighat, and 65 mm at Sherpur-Sylhet and 51 mm at Habiganj.
