34 to vie for each CU seat

Some 34 students will vie for one seat in the first year honours admission test of Chittagong University (CU) under the academic session of 2019-2018.
Prof Dr HanifSiddiqi, Director of Information of Communication Technology (ICT) Cell of CU said that a total of 1,66870applicants have lodged their application against 4,926 seats under four units and two sub-units in this year at CU.
He said some 52,870 applicants have applied for 1,214 seats under ‘A’ unit (science and engineering faculties), 42,004 for 1,221 seats under ‘B’ unit (Arts and Humanities faculty),14,001 for 442 seats under “C” unit (business administration faculty) and 52,970 for 1,157 seats under D unit (Social Science Faculty).
As per schedule, the admission test of ‘B’unit will be held on October 27 ,D Unit on 28 October, A Unit on 29 October, C unit on 30 October and the test will be ended with ‘B1’ and ‘D1’ sub-units on October 31.

Road accident kills college student : A college student was killed when a WASA truck knocked the college student in Kazirdwari area on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Khalil, 25, son of Rafiqul Islam and also a degree second-year student of Government Victoria College in Cumilla. Alauddin Talukdar of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost said the accident occurred when a speeding truck hit Ibrahim Khalil in front of Chattogram city corporation swimming pool in the area around 11 pm, leaving him critically injured. Locals brought him to CMCH but the attending doctors declared him dead.
