34 rivers register rise, 45 fall

Water levels in 34 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 45 stations recorded fall.Among the 83 monitored water level stations, three river stations have been registered steady while two are flowing above their respective danger marks, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Sunday.The Old Surma at Deraj and the Kansha at Jaraijanjail are flowing above their respective danger level by 1 cm and 96 cm. The Brahmaputra-Jamuna are in falling trend while the Ganges-Padma and the Meghna are in rising trend.Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.
