The key Bangladesh missions like the ones in Washington, Berlin, London, Paris, Madrid, Ottawa, Rome and the Hague have failed to achieve their July-May export targets while some other important missions-Riyadh, Canberra, Dubai, Brasilia and New Delhi-have been able to reach their targets for the 11-month period.
The overall export earnings for the July-May period amounted to $ 28,144.38 million against the strategic target of $ 29,943.08 million, showing a fall of 6.01 percent over the strategic target.

The four missions with commercial wings, which achieved their respective export target, are in Canberra, New Delhi, Dubai and Yangon.
Although the remaining 13 commercial wings could not achieve the target, the earnings of 10 of them except Berlin, Tehran and Ottawa still saw increase over the July-May period of 2013-14 fiscal. These 10 missions are in Washington, London, Paris, Tokyo, Madrid, Brussels, Beijing, Moscow, Geneva and Kualalampur.

The highest earnings over the 11-month period, some $ 5,259.26 million – almost one-fifth of total exports – were registered by the Washington mission, followed by the mission in Berlin which accounted for $ 4,516.45 million and London $ 3,111.60 million. The strong showing from EU member states continued with the Madrid mission fetching $ 1,580.66 million during the July-May period of last fiscal year.
