Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 318 pieces of goatskin worth Tk5 lakh from Daulatpur bordering area in Benapole on Saturday night.
BGB-21 Battalion commander Subedar Samsul Haque said tipped off that a huge number of goatskins would be smuggled to India, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at night.
Sensing the presence of the BGB team, the smugglers managed to flee leaving behind six sacks containing 318 pieces of goatskin.
