3100 telephone, internet line disconnected

A total of 3100 telephone and internet lines have been disconnected in the city much to the inconvenience of the clients.
Sources said, underground telephone and internet cables of Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL) have been damaged due to underway development works of the WASA that disconnects telecommunication lines. Officials said, among the damaged lines, 760 are in Kakrail, 680 in Shantinagar, 480 in Fakirapool, 300 in Siddheswari, 295 in Maghbazar, 210 in Goran and Nandipara, 150 in Khilgaon B-block, 122 in Syedabad, 65 in Banasree and 50 in Khilgaon chowrasta.
“BTCL has meanwhile, started to repair those damaged lines,” said one of senior officials of BTCL preferring anonymity.
He said that the BTCL expressed sorry to its clients for the temporary disconnection.
