Atleast 31 persons including 6 BNP-Jamat leaders were arrested by the police from various places of Bagerhat district during the period from November 17 to 18.
During the period police led a special drive in the district and arrested them.
Police said , 6 BNP-Jamat leaders are Rafiqul Islam (50), Bagmara Ward Committee BNP leader and Badar Ali (40), Kuliadair Ward Committee BNP leader under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila, Mojahid Shaikh
D(35), a Jamat worker of village Kadirkhola under Rampal Upazila, Abu Sayeed (53), a Jamat worker of village Barabaria under Chitalmari Upazila and 1 BNP and 1Jamat leaders of Baraipara Union under Bagerhat Sadar Upzila.
They were shown arrested in connection with sabotage activities and the rest 25 were arrested as the accused of various criminal cases.
