30,000 youths become self-reliant in Narsingdi

More than 30,000 youths in six upazilas of the district became self-reliant after receiving training and loan from the Department of Youth Development (DYD) during the last 21 years.
Deputy Director of DYD Narsingdi AKM Kaisar Ali told BSS that the department provided institutional and non-institutional training to 44,390 youth (both male and female) on different trades in the district during the time.
The training course includes dress making, block-batik, printing, dairy and poultry farming, pisciculture, computer course, electronics course, electrical and house wiring, refrigeration and air condition course plumbing, nursery and agricultural training.
The Deputy Director also said the local DYD so far provided easy term loan of Taka 22 crore to 28,500 trained youths on different income generating projects.
At least 30,000 youths (both male and female) in the six upazilas of the district are now self-reliant by taking different projects and servicing in the home and abroad by the massive role of the Department of Youth Development, he added.
