A total of 30 teachers and 21 nurses of Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzib Medical University (BSMMU) have been promoted to upper posts.
Vice-Chancellor of BSMMU Professor Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan handed over the promotion letters to the upgraded teachers and nurses at his office on the campus on Thursday.
To enhance the quality of education, research and medical services, the teachers were promoted and recruited into the posts of professors, associate professors and assistant professors.
Besides, the nurses of the medical university were also promoted to Nurse Supervisor, Additional Nurse Supervisor, Deputy Nurse Supervisor and Assistant Nurse Supervisor as per their quality, capability and skill.
The nurses were upgraded into upper posts for the first time after 18 years of the BSMMU’s establishment.
Pro-VC (Research and Development) Professor Dr. Md. Shahidullah Shikder, Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr. Sharfuddin Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Ali Asgar Mural, Registrar Professor Dr. ABM Abdul Hannan, Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman Dulal, Additional Registrar-1 Professor Dr. Md. Asadul Islam and Additional Registrar-2 Dr. Shwapan Kumer Tapader were present, among others.
