Three Inspectors of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) had been transferred instantly soon after the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) found them involved in corruption and irregularities.
A squad of ACC conducted the drive at Fakirapool office of Dhaka WASA after receiving allegations of corruption against its officials and employees over its hotline 106.
The ACC team has found inspectors Shafiqul Islam and Shah Miran Bhuiyan involved in decreasing WASA bill in exchange of extra money while inspector Golam Rabbani for preparing bill without seeing meters.
“Public sufferings have been increasing many folds due to such field level corruption. The ACC is committed to reduce such corruption with conducting regular surveillance,” said director (admin) Mohammad Munir Chowdhury of the ACC.
