3 to die for killing man during robbery

A Netrakona court Tuesday sententenced three persons to death by hanging and 19 others to suffer life term for committing dacoity at a house and killing the house owner’s son in Khaliajury upazila under the district in 2011 year.
District and Session Judge KM Rasheduzzaman Raja delivered the verdict in his crowded court room here on Tuesday. The court sources said, the convicted persons who got death penalty were identified as Osman Gani from the Khaliajury upazila, Taher (absent) from Dirai upazila and Kawser Ahmed from Sallah upazila under Sunamganj.
Those who were sentenced to suffer life term imprisonment were identified as Shaheed Mia (absent), Juti Mia (absent), Mohibur doctor (absent), Romzan Mia (absent), Siddique Mia (absent), Monu Mia (absent), Islam Uddin (absent), Shahjahan (absent), Kabir (absent), Roz Ali, Ziaul Haque (absent), Shafiq (absent), Dider (absent), Khalil (absent), Akkas (absent), Hira, Kalyia (absent), Sukkur (absent) and Rahim. All of them hailed from Sunamganj district.
 The prosecution story in brief states that on the night of September 4, 2011, a band of dacoits armed with fire arms and deadly weapons committed dacoity at the house of one Monuranjan Sarker in village Goalbari-Adampur of Khaliajury upazila under Netrakona district. The dacoits fired indiscriminately and managed to flee from the scene when inmates of the house raised hue and cry and many villagers sorrounded them hearing the alarm of the residents.
At that time, Chayan Sarker, 25, the son of Monuranjan received bullet injury and expired on the spot. After the incident, the house owner Monuranjan Sarker filed a dacoity and murder case with Khaliajury Police Station against unidentified persons. Police after investigation of the case submitted chargesheet before the court against the convicted persons on January 24, 2013.
Later the learned judge after examining the witnesses and evidences found the convicted persons guilty and pronounced the judgement.
