At least three shops were gutted in a fire at city’s north Kattoli area on Thursday night.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit of a tea stall around 11.20 pm and it quickly engulfed the surrounding shops.
On receipt of an information, three units of fire fighters from Agrabad commercial area rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 2 am.
The fire burnt three semi-pucca shops in the area.
Fire service sources said, valuables worth about TK five lakh were gutted in the fire.
