Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) is working to make tobacco -free Chattogram city.
BITA, CAB and ELLMA are jointly organizing cultural publicity against the curse of tobacco . City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin in a inaugural session of cultural program recently announced to prohibit the tobacco products sale within the 100 yards of any educational institutions .
As per directives of the City Mayor, mobile court conducted led by CCC Executive Magistrate Afia Akhter in East Bakalia in the city on Tuesday and three shopkeepers were convicted with penalty of Tk.2500.
Sources said, Shah Majidia New Malancha store, one stationery shop(without signboard) and Taher stores of East Bakalia Barakabarstan area fined with Tk.1000, Tk.500 and Tk.1000 respectively.
