At least five persons, including three of a family, were killed and 10 others injured in four separate road accidents across the country on Friday.
In Tangail, at least three members of a family were killed and four others critically injured in a tragic road crash on the east side of Bangabandhu Bridge in Tangail on Friday.
The accident took place around 8:15 pm in the morning.
Local sources said that a head on collision occurred between a covered van and a microbus. Three died on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Karim Sarkar, 60, his wife Matowara Sarkar, 50, and their daughter Kaniz Fatema, 30. They were coming from Sirajganj district.
After incident, a huge tailback was created on the Highway.
Kazi Ayubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Bangabandhu Bridge (East) Police Station confirmed the news to the media saying that the” driver of the microbus lost control on the steering and rammed into a covered van, killing three on spot and injuring five.”
.In Munshiganj, a elderly man was killed and his nephew injured on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway near Keyatkhira area of Sreenagar upazila when a passenger bus struck them on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Nitai Kar, 60, and the injured youth was his nephew Sagor Kar, 22.
Hashara Highway Police Outpost in-Charge Inspector Md Abdul Based told it to the news media.
In Narsingdi, a pedestrian named Badal Miah Bhandari was killed near the Marjal bus stand on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Raipura upazila of the district on Friday morning.
Al Mamun, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab Highway Police Station said.
