Detectives have arrested three suspected muggers from the city’s Badda and Jatrabari areas in connection with the snatching of Tk 40 lakh from the employees of a garment factory of Uttara.
The arrestees are Mohammad Jewel Rana, Mohammad Masud Rana and Antu Hawlader.

briefing at Dhaka Metropolitan Police(DMP) media centre on Thursday said a team of DB police arrested the trio from Badda and Jatrabari areas along with Tk 6 lakh snatched money on Wednesday.
On December 9, muggers snatched away Tk 40 lakh at gunpoint from the employees of a garment factory of Uttara in the capital introducing themselves as DB police.
Sayeed Mahmud, an accountant of “Tokyo Mode Ltd,” located at Road no-5 under Uttara Sector-5, went to Dhaka Bank’s Uttara Branch by a microbus to withdraw Tk 40 lakh, said Russel Ahmed, commercial manager of the company.
