At least three students were killed when their motor cycles collided head on with a trolley laden with sands on Bagerhat-Rupsa Zila Parishad Road near Rangdia Collegiate School under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat at 11 am on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Tanna Jamaddar (20), a student of Class-XI of Rangdia Collegiate School and son of one Khairul Anam Jamaddar of Jatrapur area under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila, Amit Das (19), son of one Suvas Das of village Benegati under the same Upazila and Sakib (16), a JSC Examinee and son of one Hafiz Uddin of Dhaka. Sakib came to the residence of his maternal grand father at Masitpur under the same Upazila after his JSC Examination.
Locals and police said , those ill-fated 3 young chaps were going to Jatrapur bazar by the motor cycle to Jatrapur bazar by a motor and when they reached the place of occurrence the motor cycle collided head on violently with a speeding trolley, laden with sands from the opposite direction. As a result, all the three were fatally injured. They were rushed to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital where the doctor on duty declared Tanna Jamaddar dead while Amit Das who was alive was advised to be shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital but on his way to Khulna he succumbed to his injuries. A case was lodged with Bagerhat Model PS.
