3 more drug traders killed in Ctg gunfight

Three suspected drug dealers were killed in a reported shootout with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Khulshi railway canteen gate area of the port city early yesterday.
Two of the deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 31, and Dalim Sheikh, 29.Two arms, bullets and 120 kg hemp were recovered from the spot.
RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Mimtanur Rahman confirmed the incident.RAB installed a makeshift check-post on secret information that drugs were being carried by a Chattogram city bound private car from Cumilla, around 3:30am. At one stage, gunshots were heard when the RAB members were trying to stop the car.The law enforcers fired back in retaliation.Three bullet-hit bodies were recovered from the spot. They were taken to a hospital where the physicians declared them dead.
Meanwhile members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested an alleged yaba trader and 27,300 pieces of yaba tablets from city gate area of Colonel Hat under Pahartali thana in the city yesterday.
The arrested were identified as Mohammad Sabuj, 31, and his wife Jahinur Begum, 30, hailed from Khashani village in Gopalganj district.
