Three more bullet-riddled bodies were found in Dhaka and Comilla on Monday. Of them, two were recovered from Cantonment and Jatrabari areas in the capital city.
Police recovered the body of an unidentified youth from the Cantonment area early hours of Monday.
Contacted, Officer-in-Charge of Cantonment Police Station Atiqur Rahman said that they recovered the bullet-hit body of an unidentified man, aged about 35, on DOHS-Mirpur flyover near Blue Moon Restaurant at Kalshi around 6:00am. Six crude bombs and six petrol bombs were also recovered from the spot, the OC said.
The body, which bore injury marks on his head, was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The law enforcers, however, could not give any clue about the homicide. In another incident, Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector Humayun said that a patrol team of DB police opened fire on miscreants while fleeing after hurling cocktails on their van. Later, DB police recovered the bullet-hit body of an unidentified youth, aged about 25, from Matuail area around 4:00am. The youth was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. In Comilla, an activist of Chhatra Dal was found dead at Hasanpur in Daudkandi upazila on Monday morning.
The victim was identified as Sohel, son of Babul Miah. Police said Sohel was an accused of 12 cases, including Chouddagram arson attack case.
Police said the JCD man was killed in a road accident. But, the deceased’s family claimed that he was murdered.
Nurullah, Sub-Inspector of Daudkandi highway police, said the body of Sohel was lying on a road near Hasanpur College. On information, police recovered the body on Monday morning. But, the SI could not confirm when the accident occurred.
Victim’s family members, however, claimed that a group of 10-12 people dragged Sohel out of his house early Sunday. And since then, he went missing.
The body was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
