Three more people, who were arrested from Kararchar village in Sarsingdi in the early hours of Thursday in connection with the abduction and killing of seven people in Narayanganj, were produced before a court here yesterday.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Monowara Begum ordered a three-day remand to all the arrested persons as the police produced them before her court.
Earlier, Police arrested the three people, including a woman, from Kararchar village under Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi district on late Wednesday night in connection with the seven murders in Narayanganj.
The arrestees were identified as Mintu, Masuma and Tipu. They are all close associates of councillor Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the abduction and killing case of NCC panel mayor and councillor Nazrul Islam and six others.
They went into hiding after the killing and took shelter in the house of Abdul Awal of Kararchar village.
Narayanganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Khandaker Mahid Uddin disclosed this at a press briefing in his office on Thursday. He, however, did not give details of the arrestees.
