Police have arrested three members of the banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir in Dhaka’s Sutrapur area.
The arrestees are identified as Atiqur Rahman, Maksudur Rahman and SM Sajib and seized jihadi book and document.
Sutrapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Muha-mmad Mamunur Rahman confirmed the matter on Saturday.
He said that acting on a tip-off conducted raid at DIT Market area on Subhash Bose Avenue in Sutrapur on Thursday night and arrested three. He further said that the arrestees were activists of the banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir. They were involved in conspiracies of destructive activities to destabilize the country and intimidate the people, including destroying the independence, sovereignty and integrity of the country.
