3 killed in separate incidents

Three people, including a house wife, were killed in separate incidents in Chittagong district on Monday.
The deceased were identified as trader Abdul Alim, 40, son of Kabir Ahmed, hailed from Kharana area under Patiya upazila, bus driver Mohammad Alamgir, 32, son of Ahead Ali, hailed from Gazipur district and house wife Momata Begum, 30, wife of Idris Ali.
Police said police recovered the bullet riddle body of drug trader Abdul Alim from beside the Kharana rail line of Patiya Upazila of the district. Police suspected that he was killed in line with cross fire between two groups of drug traders.
Besides, bus driver Alamgir received serious injuries while his bus knocked a roadside tree losing control over its steering in Choonity area on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway under Lohagara police station around 10 am today. He was taken to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where the duty doctors declared him dead at noon, CMCH police outpost sources said.
Meanwhile, Momata Begum received head injury after being knocked down by a bus when she was crossing the road in Lalbagh area under Sitakunda upazila of the district around 8 am. She was rushed to CMCH where on-duty doctors declared her dead. Three separate cases were filed with respective police stations in this connection.
